    Welcome to Year 6!

    Welcome to Year 6's class page.  This is somewhere for us to share useful information and important updates.  As a general rule, if you need it, it will be on here.  Having said that, if there is anything else that you would like to see on here, please let us know.

    Year 6 Leavers' T-Shirts

    To help mark the end of their time at Balliol, the school would like to buy every Year 6 child a Leavers’ t-shirt.  This gift is part of our plans to celebrate your child’s time with us.

    The front of the t-shirt will be plain, with the design on the back containing the first names of every child in Year 6.  This will be the same design for any additional garments you may want to purchase.

    How to order your child’s free t-shirt

    • Follow the link above, then click on ‘Balliol School Leavers T-shirts  £0.00’
    • Size charts are available when you click on the product.  We always suggest that you order a size up, as these products can come up a little small.
    • If you would like to order an adult size t-shirt for your child, there is a small additional charge to pay.  This payment can be made via the online shop.

    Can I pay for additional t-shirts or a hoody?

    Yes, you will see links for these too.  Size charts are available for each product and again, we would suggest you order a size up to ensure that it fits your child for longer.  Payments for these can be made via the online shop.

    Other important information

    • PLEASE ENSURE YOU ORDER YOUR CHILD’S FREE T-SHIRT BEFORE 15TH MAY.  We want every Year 6 to have their free t-shirt.  If you do not place an order by this date, we will make our best estimate of the size your child will need and will place the order for you.
    • The online shop for other products closes on 18th May - you will not be able to order products after this date. 
    • T-shirts, and any additional orders, will be delivered to school.
    • Once the children have their t-shirts, they will be allowed to wear them as part of their school uniform, should they wish to.

    Year 6 PGL dates

    PGL meeting: Tuesday 19th May at 3.30pm (in Hawk Class)

    PGL trip: Wednesday 24th June - Friday 26th June

     

    Year 6 Outdoor Centre Trip - for children NOT going to PGL

    We are currently busy planning a fun few days for those children not going to PGL. 

    As part of this, we will be taking the children to Kemspton Outdoor Centre on Thursday 25th June.  Here they will be able to take part in a range of outdoor and adventurous activities (these will be confirmed nearer the time)

    Thanks to a very generous donation from Friends of Balliol, we have managed to reduce the voluntary contribution from parents to only £22.50, which is half the total cost. Whilst we appreciate that these contributions are voluntary, without a sufficient number of these, the trip may not be able to go ahead. 

    Further details will be sent nearer the time, but please complete the permission form ASAP and send any voluntary contributions into school by Friday 5th June.

    School Uniform Support Scheme

    Please see the attached image and leaflet for information about help towards the cost of school uniform for those children transferring to secondary school, who are also eligible for free school meals.
