This term, we will be exploring the topic of "Me and My Community"! The children will be learning all about themselves, their families and the people who make up their community. Through stories, discussions, creative activities, and play, we will discover what makes us unique, the importance of helping others, and how we can all work together to make our community a happy and special place. 🌈🤝

🌟 Our First Full Week Back! 🌟

What a lovely first full week back! The children have settled in beautifully and have enjoyed getting back into our daily routines. It has been wonderful to see their happy faces, confidence and enthusiasm as they reconnect with their friends and adults.

We have had a busy and enjoyable week filled with lots of opportunities to play, explore, learn and build relationships. We are so proud of how well everyone has settled back in! 💕🌈

🦉 Daisy Class – Owl Babies 🦉

Daisy Class have been learning all about the lovely story Owl Babies! 🌙 We enjoyed listening to the story and learning about the three baby owls, Sarah, Percy and Bill, as they waited patiently for their mummy to return. The children also enjoyed joining in with the repeated phrases and learning an owl song. As part of our creative learning, the children painted their own unique owls and carefully added eyes and beaks. This provided a wonderful opportunity to develop their creativity, fine motor skills and language, while making connections to the story.

 

The children were highly engaged and had loads of fun creating their own obstacle courses using the different crates, planks and blocks. They worked together to arrange the resources, finding different ways to climb, balance and move across the course to reach the slide. This activity encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, physical coordination and confidence, while allowing the children to use their imagination and take ownership of their play.

The children enjoyed exploring the story of Owl Babies and became engaged in creating a cosy nest for the owl babies. They used a variety of natural and sensory materials, including hay, leaves, feathers and pine cones, carefully choosing where to place each item to make the nest comfortable and safe.

The activity encouraged the children to use their imagination and develop an understanding of how animals need shelter and care. They talked about the owl babies story and repeated their favourite phrases from the story.

🦉 Owl Babies Snack! 🦉

Following on with our Owl Babies theme, the adults prepared a special owl-inspired snack for the children to enjoy! 🥒🧀

The children loved seeing their little owl snacks and, of course, enjoyed eating them too! 😋 It was a lovely way to continue our Owl Babies theme and make story time even more fun. 💕🦉

Birds of a feather learning together!

🌳✨ Look at how beautifully our little artists created their feathered friends, the 'Owl Babies', sitting on their branch waiting for Mummy owl to return.

Inspired by the children’s love for Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star, we created our very own star wands! ⭐ The children enjoyed exploring colours, painting and decorating their stars, expressing their creativity and making each wand unique. We had lots of fun bringing our twinkling stars to life! ✨

We had lots of spooky fun today creating our Halloween crafts! 🎨🎃 The children enjoyed getting creative and making some Halloween magic. We hope you love their little masterpieces as much as we do!
