Welcome to Balliol Primary School, Pre-School and Nursery

We are delighted to introduce you to our Pre-School and Nursery provision. At Balliol, we offer two dedicated early years classes designed to give our youngest learners the very best start to their education.

Daisy Class (Pre-School) is for children aged 2–3 years. Children are welcome to join Daisy Class in the term following their second birthday.

Poppy Class (Nursery) is for children aged 3–4 years, and children can join in the term after their third birthday.

Both Daisy and Poppy Classes have their own purpose-built learning spaces within the school grounds. Each class provides access to both indoor and outdoor environments throughout the day, allowing children to explore, play and learn in a safe and stimulating setting.

Key Person

Each child is assigned a key person when they join our Pre-School or Nursery. This key person takes time to get to know your child, helping them feel happy, secure and confident in their new environment. They are responsible for observing and recording your child’s learning and development, and for planning engaging, play-based learning experiences tailored to your child’s individual interests and needs.

Fees and Funding

We are pleased to accept all 15 and 30-hour funding codes for eligible 2, 3, and 4-year-olds.

If you would like to book additional sessions beyond your funded hours, these are available at the following rates:

• Morning session: £13.50

• Full day: £27.00

Session Times

• Morning Session (Monday – Friday): 8:35am – 11:45am

• Full Day (Monday – Thursday): 8:35am – 3:30pm

• Full Day (Friday): 8:35am – 3:00pm
