Welcome to Year 6's class page.  This is somewhere for us to share useful information and important updates.  As a general rule, if you need it, it will be on here.  Having said that, if there is anything else that you would like to see on here, please let us know.

Year 6 Outdoor Centre Trip - for children NOT going to PGL

We are currently busy planning a fun few days for those children not going to PGL. 

As part of this, we will be taking the children to Kemspton Outdoor Centre on Thursday 25th June.  Here they will be able to take part in a range of outdoor and adventurous activities (these will be confirmed nearer the time)

Thanks to a very generous donation from Friends of Balliol, we have managed to reduce the voluntary contribution from parents to only £22.50, which is half the total cost. Whilst we appreciate that these contributions are voluntary, without a sufficient number of these, the trip may not be able to go ahead. 

Further details will be sent nearer the time, but please complete the permission form ASAP and send any voluntary contributions into school by Friday 5th June.

Secondary School Transition Days

You will receive more information about these days from your child's new school.  Please ensure you read this information carefully, as the timings for these days are often different, and it will also tell you about what your child is expected to wear and take with them.

Please note, on these days, it is the responsibility of parents / carers to get their child to and from their new schools. 

Daubeney Academy: Tuesday 30th June & Wednesday 1st July

Kempston Academy: Tuesday 30th June & Wednesday 1st July

Bedford Free School: Tuesday 30th June

Castle Newnham: Tuesday 30th June & Wednesday 1st July

School Uniform Support Scheme

Please see the attached image and leaflet for information about help towards the cost of school uniform for those children transferring to secondary school, who are also eligible for free school meals.
