3rd September

Welcome back to school for all our families from last term. We hope you had an amazing summer! A warm welcome to all our new families. Lovely to see you all, we look forward to working with you all over the coming year. Settling in to the school routine can take a bit of time, so please don't worry, if there are a few tears in the mornings......it will ease, I promise! Thank you for the quick drop-offs in the mornings, this does make it easier for the children to settle into class. If you are worried about your child and would like to check on them, you can ring the school office, and they will ring over to see how things are.

5th September

Well done everyone, we survived the first week of term! All the children have settled well into Daisy Class and are coping well with the school routine.  Next week we will start our topic for this half-term, Me and My Community. With that in mind, if possible, can you bring in or send a family photo to put up on our family board. Our story for the half-term is Owl Babies, always a favourite and can be found on YouTube if you don't have a copy. Please, if you have any questions, just pop in and see any of the Daisy Class team.

Have a lovely weekend

12th September

It has been a busy week in Daisy Class. The children have been making some lovely owl pictures using great skills which are displayed in the classroom. Come and have a look! The children have been able to take advantage of the outside area......in between the downpours.  Sand has been a big hit this week, as well as dancing and sitting looking at books.  Thank you to all parents who have returned funding forms. If you use a funding code and have lost the form, please ask a member of staff for another form as we need them back, or you will be charged for your sessions. Have a lovely weekend.

19th September

The wind at the beginning of the week certainly gave the children some extra energy, keeping us on our toes in Daisy Class. We have been making lots of lovely artwork, some of which has already made its way home to you. We hope you like them.  We have been enjoying our topic story 'owl babies' and learning our owl song. Hopefully the children are teaching you at home.  The owls on the display board look amazing. The children have worked really hard on them. Please come in and have a look!!

Please remember to bring daily wallets back to school every morning as these are our way of sending your children's pictures and work home. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any member of the Daisy Team.

Have a lovely weekend, hope the sun stays out!

Time is flying by in Daisy class, with the children busy at their work.  We have made some lovely white owls with paint and dabbers this week, also using feathers and glue. These are hanging around the classroom, they are very interesting pieces of art!.

We have been doing some great balancing on the crates this week, as well as developing fine motor skills with stickers. Playdough and gems have been a big hit this week, making owls and faces.

Hoping the weather is kind to us this weekend. See you all Monday, Daisy team.

10th October

Its the end of another busy week in Daisy class. The children have enjoyed the dry weather, making good use of the outside areas. They have been busy enjoying the builders' tools in the garden, fixing, hammering and sawing the trees and slides! As the weather has been a bit cooler, please ensure children come in to school with coats on. Although we have been lucky with the weather....you never know how the day will change.  The children have been lucky with making a lovely sweet owl treat that they took home with them........ if they made it home before being eaten.

This rounds off our Owl Babies story. Next week we will start to explore Autumn and how the leaves fall from the trees and change colour.

Have a lovely weekend,

Daisy Team

17th October

Another week has passed in Daisy Class, the children are enjoying collecting leaves in the garden and making some lovely pieces of art with them.

If you are out and about at the weekend,  feel free to pick some leaves and bring them into class for us to play with. The Children have been learning about the season and how the leaves change colour and fall from the trees. We have been recognising some colours and singing our Autumn song 'all the leaves are falling down, Orange, Yellow, Red and Brown'.

Enjoy your weekend,

Daisy Team

24th October

The end of the first half term is here, well done to all the parents and children for making it through to the end with a few coughs and colds along the way. The children started the week learning about Diwali and what happens during this festival, they explored books and dress up clothes, watched a video of a girl getting ready for this and made some of their own firework pictures. The children also tried popadoms and mango chutney.....which was well and truly enjoyed by all the children!

We spent the last part of half term exploring pumkins, how they feel and smell, using spoons to scoop out the seeds, and pick the seeds up with tweezers!  "smelly" was the word most used by the children during this activity!

The children made some lovely pieces of art around pumpkins, and as a treat for their hard work, they made a spider biscuit to take home.

Please ensure children are wearing appropriate footwear as the weather turns wetter, canvas shoes and crocs are not ideal for outside play on wet grass. If you can, please bring some wellies into school for them to wear for outside play, please name them so we know who they belong to.

The Daisy class team wish you all a lovely half-term break and look forward to seeing you all on Monday 3rd November.
