In 2011-12, the Government launched its Pupil Premium funding (PPF). PPF is an allocation of funding provided to schools to support children who may be vulnerable to underachievement. This helps schools to support children and close the attainment gap between them and their peers. The amount received is dependent on the number of children who receive free school meals. In addition, children whose parents work in the forces or Children in Care may also receive a grant. All schools are required to report on their amount of funding and how this is being used.
