Spring 1 - The Great Fire of London

Fire , Fire !!!

This term we are learning about the Great Fire of London. We will travel back in time to find out how the fire started, how it spread, and how people tried to stop it. We will learn what life was like in London long ago and how the fire changed the city.

We will enjoy a virtual visit with Thomas Farriner, the baker whose shop the fire began in. We will find out about his job and why baking bread was so important in the past. We will also have fun baking bread, just like people did in 1666.

We are excited to have a visit from real firefighters from the Fire Brigade. They will tell us about their important job, show us their special equipment, and help us understand how firefighters keep us safe today.

This topic will help us learn history through stories, visits, and hands-on activities, making learning fun and memorable.
