Our topic this half term is: Am I the fastest?

- To earn your fantastic news you need to write a list of how many jumps you and your family members can do in 10 seconds.
- To earn a head teachers award, you need to make a 1st, 2nd and 3rd medal.

Week commencing 25.06.18

This week the children will be drawing on all their knowledge of traditional tales and nursery rhymes to create some Rhyming sentences.

In Maths the children will be looking at 2D and 3D shape recapping shape names and properties. They will also be using their knowledge of number value to show the Numicon representation of numbers to 20 and beyond.

The children will continue to think about what is meant by a healthy lifestyle. As well as sorting pictures of food into healthy/ not so healthy groups.

Week commencing 18.06.18

This week the children will be learning to identify rhyming words in the book Each Peach Pear Plum. They will be writing simple rhyming sentences as well as writing their news.

In Maths the children will be practising counting in different steps as well as adding coins of different value. To challenge the children we will be teaching the children how to give change.

We are hoping to be able to swim so if you are able to help atall please speak to us. Thank you to the parents who have already offered to help.

The children will also be thinking about ‘Keeping Healthy’ and they will be making fruit/ vegetable kebabs to eat.

Week commencing 11.06.18

This week the children will be changing the story of Rosie’s Walk. They will also be writing the story for themselves.


In Maths the children will be learning to tell the time by looking at an analogue clock face. The children will learn the relevance of counting in 5’s by counting minutes past the hour.

They will also be talking about the importance of keeping healthy and those things that can help to keep us healthy. You could talk to your child about the importance of exercise, sleep and rest and eating treat foods in moderation.

We are hoping to swim this week at 12:45-1:30 if you are able to help please speak to your child’s class teacher. If we do not have sufficient helpers we will not be able to swim. Thank you!
